Let's use the current season to springboard to summer All the homework I have makes me feel more encumbered The math and the history, the chemistry and English (unh) They all dull the spark and the energy between us (unh) Plus the gossip bullshit with the symphony of secrets (yeah) I don't give a fuck if Billy has a pimple on his penis (nope) Too much of that will just get us in trouble Stay waitin' for the light at the end of the tunnel 'Cause until it's all behind us we'll be muddled in despair It's so much better than spring it's like somethin' isn't fair (damn) And when it comes it's somethin' wonderful to share (beautiful) The king has a brother, the sun is in the air When it's nighttime, the moon is a sight to be held Still we're left in the dark, it keeps the light for itself And the stars are too far so their shine doesn't help Every day when it's dawn it's now time to rebel Light is currensy, the sun always fights for our wealth And victory's declared when it's high noon at twelve We're civilized, but still act primal and yell 'Cause in everyone everywhere the cycle is felt (yeah!) The dark isn't all bad, the night's a journey But every sunrise is so life-affirming (hmmmm) Clouds are the doubts that get the sky to worry Enjoy the sun when it's out, there's no time to hurry All the numbers at my school got me stuck in the Matrix But if I had to explain why summer's the greatest No baseball, but Blue Jays cover the bases We all know the two words right, fuckin' amazin' (uh-huh) Winter kept calling, now I need a new number For a little change in scenery seasons do wonders But when you're this far south you don't see unique colors So spring's cool but for me it's just a prelude to summer

whole mixtape and not a wack bar, damn And my flow's all around the track like Nascar fans I can tolerate a lot, but it's the last straw, man If you're over 20 and still rockin' the Phat Farm brand I don't know too much about the ghetto or the dang'rous streets Where the girls be puttin' out before they lose their baby teeth Dudes gettin' powder behind the counter like a bakery But anyway I never will be one for complacency 'Cause it's heroin for the poor, amphetamines for the peasantry If rain is angels' tear drops then how great can heaven be? Tasks on my shoulders are just leadin' to stress Catch heat then that's just another reason to sweat Never get it done so I need a new nest All my work comes after stallin' like Nikita Krushchev But hey, that's something we all go through, right? 'Cause it's only perfect on paper livin' a no rules life So we'll just keep it goin' and try to coast through, right? They told you it gets tough then they told you right So we'll just keep it goin' and try to coast through, right? Got that Audacity 'cause I can't afford Pro Tools strife

A year from now, this'll be hard for me to listen to A year from now, this'll be as good as my interludes A year from now, compared to this I'll be invincible 'Cause I'm just gettin' started so please don't be cynical I wrote my first song in December of last year If you heard it now you'd probably forget that I had ears Listeners told me there's no semblance of rap here Fast forward 5 months and I'm spittin' it mad clear Another 5, no surprise if I double that Then I'll listen to this and think that it's just as bad Now I don't wanna let my ego get the best of me But I'm better now than some rappers'll ever be So a year from now nobody's gonna step to me 'Cause a year from now there's no way I won't be wreckin' beats A year from now, this'll be hard for me to listen to A year from now, this'll be as good as my interludes A year from now, compared to this I'll be invincible But for now I'ma have some fun and keep killin' dudes

I'm Over It 01:57
I'm over waiting for this overrated season to end Spring needs to come to a close, summer needs to begin It's like the keys to the city vs. the keys to a Benz I don't need these flowers blooming, keep the sheep in the pen I'm over exams, over finals, over school, no denial Over being in the ring when these people hold the title I'm overstressed and overpressured, over with this whole semester Over making it to the end of the day being my sole endeavor I'm over people bitchin' - over Lisa Simpson And other things less important than a decent livin' Negative all the time, I'd rather keep 'em grinnin' Why dish out the just desserts instead of feastin' with 'em? But if I do they'll just complain about the peas and chicken Walk out the front door with no goodbyes and leave the dishes Yeah, I get the irony, it doesn't mean it's less inspiring And doesn't take away from how I find it all so tiring I'm over people always actin', over bein' overactive Over the only hope I'd ever hold of goin' platinum I'm over everything else always being so distractin' And right now... I'm over rappin'

Summer Broke 01:30
Summer days on as if I know different Garage door open and my mind go with it Jewels gleamin' in the sunlight, shine on pimpin' Got the scouter on my eyes with the sights on women Locked on, time to turn on finesse and magic Hazel colored eyes with the dress to match 'em Roll up like "Damn girl, that's expensive fabric" Crazy shit poppin' out the top like Inspector Gadget Gave me a dumb look but my bruises are healin' No way I'm gonna let that ruin the feelin' Gotta say I'm lookin' up and summer is the reason And now the park to me is so suddenly appealin' Call some buddies up and stuff 'em in the truck so they can peep it Start climbing through the playground and jumpin' from the ceilin' Can't be true when they say that the only Suns are up in Phoenix 'Cause just now the weather gave me somethin' to believe in Whether it's, June or July, I'm in tune with the sky Nothin' could mess up this day and shit, who's gonna try Son's gettin' low, hope you ain't assumin' I'd cry 'Cause I'd die for the day just as soon as the nights

Doin' 90, you'd be hard pressed to find me gon' slow Zoom by you hear swoosh like the Nike logo Hair blown back, thinkin' that I might be loco Always knockin' socks off like a Chinese dojo You know that I came with it (nah man, they ain't listen) Not tryna get jumped over a car like Blake Griffin Or have Clippers fadin' my buzz without the game tickets And never be crossin' the line like lane switchin' Clark Kent rappers have you thinkin' they violent Hit the booth, goin' through an identity crisis Ask my fans who's their idol, never Studdard like Rubin (Fool, you know how we do it) Others need guest rappers or someone to sing No cast, but their crutches goin' under the wing I'm just here to show you I'm the bomb, that's it Not how many rappers I got up in the contacts list You want to be on this track so I can pay you more? I need to make an impression, that's what a debut's for You can hear it in the speakers when the car goes by Every single planet and all of the stars know why You know I'm gonna rip it sure as darts gon' fly It's like I'm mixin' drugs the way I got the bar so high, out

Lookin' Up 01:56
Never even did just one crime, and I'm somewhat kind See the hood in my songs, you'll have tough luck tryin' Call me white and suburban and I'm summed up fine (yup) But shit, it's fun to rap about guns sometimes (hey!) Yeah, it ain't that impressive and it ain't that hard (nope) Still put the barrel to your neck like a St. Bernard (ungh) Computer thugs want beef then the lames get scarred Shoot at your Windows OS 'til it's rainin' shards (bang bang) If anybody out there thinks I'm drained of bars Alert the people to this fire like a rang alarm And if they don't like it, sky keeps droppin' on me Skimmin' through my shit, call it sleepwalkin' on me (nnhhh) I'm not sayin' my ps and bs are in the mix perfect (nah) But I'm never watered down, my pop filter is workin' (alright) Try and tell me right now that this shit isn't burnin' (come on) I could even switch it up and just kill it in German Guten tag, haha that shit's stupid dog My secret stays masked like thugs when they loot and rob You'll never duplicate it, just sit back and do your job I'll at least let you rate it one to five like losin' odds My shit is everywhere, call it Hello Kitty (yeah) Peeps lookin' more out of place than a shell-toed hippie (haha) Fanbase got a bigger population than Melrose city Haters try and turn my bottoms up then hell rose quickly Ask for gals, give me 2%, no fat around If she on that whole milk I'm zoomin' right past'cha cows Down to the core this is Thor, I'm Valhalla-bound Landin' on my feet as long as these cats are down (yessir) Don't try to front like my tracks aren't good enough Cats try and act then they crash like a sugar rush (what) If you don't like this shit, I won't be shooken up 'Cause even when I'm underground I'll be lookin' up

Tape's shapin' up well, nice beats, some lyrics Never felt like a chore, just havin' fun with it But I can't shake the feeling that somethn's missin' Wait a minute, oh God, I forgot the love interest Only caught a glimpse now I'm gunnin' for more She's a daimyo, used to being under the sword Ain't nobody callin' on the phone and it worries me I need to get the number for my social security Looks got me goin' under without the scuba suit At the point she's looking for an Outkast (hootie-hoo) If she a vegan and follow the whey like Buddhists do We'll just have to find some new meat to introduce her to Feel like I just went through a rabbit hole (Loony Toons) No make-up, doesn't hide under a mask (Scooby Doo) Decided to walk up and introduce myself (who are you?) Don't have no ill will, her looks could Kill Bill (Lucy Liu)

Lookin' for a lover, and winter became my sole target But it didn't take long to find out she's cold-hearted Kept dragging me down, and it became unreas'nable I need somebody who can be more than seasonal Someone kind as spring, I thought that I would love to find it And when I did, I was thinkin' that this one's the nicest But after awhile there just wasn't enough excitement And it was eatin' at me, feelin' like a stomach virus Wanted to hit something but I would never succumb to violence Had nothin' to do, and it became unreas'nable I need somebody who can be more than seasonal Then summer came and turned my whole life around Wasn't long before my feelings became quite profound Had my heart doin' flips and made me want to write it down But what I felt for her to what she felt for me was twice as loud Tried to call but all I hear is silence now Guess I tried too hard, and it became unreas'nable She needed somebody who can be more than seasonal This turn of events had me down in the dumps So I had to use Autumn to get me out of the slump She thought it was real, and had a powerful love But I only wanted to talk for an hour a month Ignoring her calls, that type of cowardly stuff Realized what I did wrong, and it became unreas'nable We need somebody who can be more than seasonal So now I'm back with winter and I'm never happy It's like I never had her, she only ever had me That being the case, we're still together sadly All this seasonal love is borin' me to tears I need you to last longer than a quarter of the year

As I sit back, or, as I recline These memories of the past all come to my mind Waitin' on summer, I've been there before Anticipating the season until my brain is sore So of course I'd consider it one of my friends But like all things, it'll come to an end And in the later months we almost wish it was over Nothin' to do like a gun forced to sit in the holster Return to school feelin' as if we got the building upholstered Until it's May and old desires start simmering closer The year is just a cycle and we go through it often But forget the feelings trapped inside like a ghost in a coffin In winter these emotions will be only forgotten And until next spring I won't even know it's a problem The only season that got the shine that all these other bums are stealin' We all know there's nothin' like that last day of summer feelin' Sunday amplified, mind dwellin' with those big fears Like how long's it gonna take for school to get old this year? I guess a guy's best friends are crystals, it's clear So for now I'ma keep it simple, it's here

about

Made in around a month between April and May, Waiting on Summer has a loose theme of the anticipation that comes in the months leading up to the summer, while leaving room for your typical braggadocio and what have you. Production is all taken from the 10 Nights in Summer album by Evolve One, which I recommend you check out if you like the beats (it's available on bandcamp as well).
